I used to always think that nerf bars were just installed for the coolness factor, little did I know the actual purpose. The only nerf I knew was the nerf gun which shoots foam stuff and is endless fun on a Summer day. A nerf is actually the intentional bumping of a car in some sport racing to facilitate the takeover.

Even if you don’t usually intentionally bump people on the freeway a nerf bar is a great idea both style-wise, and in the end, it may also help prevent an accident.
