Carry up to 5 bikes with you

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

Thule bike rackI’ve already written about how I love biking and driving put together. There’s nothing better than heading out into the mountains, or to the ocean and going out for a bike ride. The Thule Roadway Bike Rack comes in a variety of sizes, the largest is able to take 5 bikes at once, quite a feat, although I bet it looks scary if you’re driving behind one of these!

The rack mounts into the hitch receiver, which is a way better way of taking your two-wheelers than on the roof I think. I always get nervous when driving with bikes on top because to me they just seem less secure protruding out like that.

The T3 cradles used are padded to protect your bike’s paint job, but will hold all size frames firmly in place all the way from the East Coast to the West Coast if needed. You don’t even need to remove it when empty, the carrying arms just fold down so you regain the space at the back.

Weather it’s just you, the missus and your son/daughter or the whole family, you’ll find the Thule rack with just enough space for you. You can take your bikes anywhere, just clamp them off and ride out into the wild! Happy Cycling everyone!

Go biking through the summer with a roof rack

Thule Rack SystemThe Summer is right around the corner and it’s time to prepare for the weekend trips, vacations and all. One of my favorite things to do is to head out somewhere by car and go cycling in places I wouldn’t normally get to with the bike itself.

The Thule Roof Rack System will allow you to mount your bikes right on top of your car or truck and hit the open road. The kit you receive is custom made for your make, model and year, so you won’t spend hours trying to figure it out instead of being on your way already. Most systems also come with integrated locks so you won’t find your bikes have disappeared after a stop at the motorway diner.

The price may be high since you need to buy carriers for specific gear separately, but the Thule system dows come with a lifetime warranty and for me the safety of my bikes (and the cars behind me) are more important than saving $20-50 on my roof rack.

This Summer I am heading out to the mountains for some serious cycling fun and I can’t wait to mount them on top and head out with my friends. The Thule roof rack is one of those accessories that won’t make your car or truck look cooler, it won’t boost performance, it’s just plain, damn useful.
